Surf Lagoon Lifeguard

As a Surf Lagoon Lifeguard, you’ll be on the front lines of ensuring guest safety in one of the most dynamic environments in our facility. You'll monitor surfers, enforce safety rules, respond to emergencies, operate the wave from our control tower, and be a friendly face for our guests. Whether it’s answering a question with a smile or springing into action during a rescue, your presence matters.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Maintain constant surveillance of guests in and around the surf lagoon

  • Proactively prevent accidents by enforcing rules and monitoring behavior

  • Respond quickly and effectively to all emergencies

  • Provide exceptional guest service and assist guests with questions or concerns

  • Operate our wave system while keeping a vigilant eye on the sessions underway

  • Conduct daily safety checks and help maintain a clean, safe lagoon area

  • Participate in regular training and drills to keep your skills sharp



Experience and Qualifications

  • Lifeguard Certification (Red Cross, Ellis, or equivalent) preferred

  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification preferred

  • Understanding of surfing/surf culture preferred but not required

  • Strong swimming skills and physical fitness

  • Clear communicator with a calm, confident presence under pressure

  • Prior experience in of ocean lifeguarding or aquatic facility preferred but not required

  • Commitment to upholding the highest safety standards and guest service values

Working Conditions / Physical requirements (if applicable)

  • Ability to understand guests’ service needs & requests

  • Ability to acknowledge guests’ requests in a polite manner

  • Ability to clearly communicate in verbal and written English (additional foreign languages are encouraged and preferred)

  • Ability to apply logical thinking and understanding to carry out written and oral instructions

  • Ability to address and solve problems involving guest and operational issues

  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations

  • Ability to sit, walk, and stand continuously

  • Ability to Lift / carry 25 lbs (frequently) and 50 lbs (occasionally)

  • Ability to work outdoors

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. Compensation
Compensation will be $16-$18/hr to be determined based upon prior experience and assigned roles / responsibilities.
