Concrete is stronger than fiberglass, so surfboards tend to lose when they meet the wall. We offer the Damage Waiver on all surfboard rentals to protect you from further charges in case the equipment gets dinged. It can take a few tries to get comfortable surfing the lagoon, especially with navigating the takeoff beside the wall. Repairs can be costly, so better safe than sorry.

If you opt out of the Damage Waiver, we’ll need a valid photo ID to hold as a deposit during your session. We will keep it safely stored away, but we cannot take responsibility for any loss or damages while it’s with us. When you return the rental board and one of our coaches checks it in, we’ll hand your ID back to you.

Look over the board while it’s still in the Rental Room and notify us of any preexisting damages. There could be minor scuffs or cracks in the fiberglass, and we don’t want you to be held responsible. We will note any blemishes on your rental form and place the board outside on the “Pickup” rack. Do not attempt to fix or modify any equipment without chatting with us first.

While the equipment is in your possession, it is your responsibility. Never leave it unattended in public spaces. Do not prop the board upright at any area of the park as it is likely to fall. When you’re finished riding it, secure it with a bungee cord in our “Returns” rack. Be sure to notify one of our coaches so we can check it in.

After all your high-fives and post-session dip in the warming pool, please return our wetsuit to the same place you received it. Keep the wetsuit inside out so we can wash it for the next guest, and place it in one of the black plastic tubs across from the Rental Center.
