Seasonal Maintenance Technician
Position Summary
Atlantic Park Surf is seeking a hands-on, safety-minded, and proactive Maintenance Technician to support the daily upkeep, repair, and functionality of our parks and public spaces. This role is vital to ensuring our grounds, facilities, and infrastructure are clean, functional, and safe for guests and staff alike.
The ideal candidate is comfortable operating equipment, performing general maintenance and landscaping tasks, and stepping into a variety of manual labor duties with a strong sense of ownership and pride in their work.
Atlantic Park operates year‑round; however, this position is a seasonal role created exclusively to support our peak operating season, which typically runs April through September. Employment in this role begins at the start of the peak season and automatically ends at the close of the peak season, with no expectation of continued or year‑round employment. Rehire for future peak seasons is not guaranteed and depends solely on staffing needs and business conditions.
Seasonal Responsibilities
These duties apply only during the peak seasonal period and may vary based on weather, guest volume, and operational needs.
Grounds & Facility Maintenance
Perform daily upkeep of lagoon, facilities, and public areas, trimming, landscaping, raking, and litter removal
Clean and maintain restrooms, locker rooms, and general park infrastructure.
Perform basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and general building maintenance tasks as needed
Assist in general upkeep of building, WaveGarden equipment, and chemical control systems.
Safety & Compliance
Secure work zones with proper barricades, cones, and signage
Follow all OSHA and internal safety protocols when handling equipment or working in public areas
Report safety concerns, maintenance needs, or facility damage to the Facilities Manager
Respond to on-the-job injuries according to training and policy
Teamwork & Safety
Collaborate with facilities, guest services, safety and events staff as needed
Attend training sessions, safety briefings, and team meetings
Uphold positive communication with coworkers, supervisors, and members of the public
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
1+ year of general maintenance, landscaping, construction, or facilities experience preferred
Familiarity with operating heavy equipment, power and hand tools safely
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and machinery
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow through on tasks independently
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and carry up to 50 lbs for extended periods
Comfortable working in outdoor environments, including heat and inclement weather, maybe subjected to extreme temperatures
Must be able to wear provided uniform

Compensation
Compensation will start at $17/hr based upon prior experience and assigned roles / responsibilities.
